Hello! I’m Jessica, owner of BunnyBird Bakehouse, a woman-veteran-owned home microbakery lovingly named after my children, Gunny Bunny and Nerdy Bird.
My love for baking began in childhood, making biscochitos with my mom. She baked by heart while we helped pour the ingredients, and her words, “¡Tú, no más, échale! Yo te digo cuando” (“Just keep pouring, I’ll tell you when”), echo in my mind to this day. She didn’t always have the most patience with us, we spilled flour, argued, asked a ton of questions, and probably drove her a little crazy, but we laughed, learned, and loved every minute of it. Those moments are where my love for baking truly began.
At 18, I proudly served as a U.S. Marine for 5 years. Those years instilled discipline, focus, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence. Lessons I carry into every cookie I bake. Later, decades of professional and life experience taught me organization, customer care, and the importance of balance: working hard, sharing joy, and making every moment count.
BunnyBird Bakehouse is my tribute: to my mom, who showed me that food is love; to my children, who inspire me every day; and to my husband, who cheers me on and helps make every dream happen. Every Christmas, baking hundreds of Delia’s Biscochitos with my boys for teachers, family, and friends reminds me why I started this business. Each treat carries a piece of that story: discipline, care, fun, and connection. Thank you for being part of this journey. May every bite bring comfort, joy, and a little nostalgia — a taste of home.
